Soul Betrayer

When last your eyes blazed at me
Filled with the hate of sundry years
I decried the devil in you
And knelt to shake a hand so dear

The knell has rung, the hour passed
Never put your trust in Time's callous hands
Though you lock your faith in a casque
In your eyes i behold a false contenance

Oh! black mass
Devil of this night
I see nothing inside
To make me believe this lie

Your eyes are your soul betrayer
Filtering light from far beyond
Revealing more in sardonic prayer
To which I shall not respond

Eternal torment adorns my skies
Like a painting of your thousand eyes
A once bright day willfully turns night
Caught in the trance of her shadowed sight
