The Rising

She hovers in the corner
She breathes the night air deep
The blackness swallowing our days
We do not see her light

To be buried full dress
Mouths opened
Losing the words that would keep us
Above
Into the void we go

Roots like the fingers of a blind man
Curl tighter in the dark

And still she lingers tirelessly
Waiting for a voice
A sign to turn the earth
And let us catch our breath......................


A crude reality of fates existence
An enemy within
The minds of those lost and unholy
Within weapons made of fear
we can run from our saviour
No one can lose or win

Beyond insanity
Beyond beliefs and hopes
Beyond Mortality
For terror is their home

Fighting, Killing, preaching in gods name
A just war they call holy
And blaming, raping victims beyond shame
They think their time for the rising has come

Extremist with no heart
And bound to shadows
With chaos as their only goal
They stand and fight
Tearing worlds apart they pray for salvation
as if they were chosen ones
