Cold Hands

Spend my nights awake
Hearing thoughts collide
Spend my nights awake
Though I try
To burn out my mind
Chase these cold hands
From my spine

Retracing every line
Back and forth again
I'm lost inside

These concerns hardly cross my mind
When I'm busy wasting time
But when the day expires

The ceiling fan keeps turning over my head
Why can't I close my eyes?
Spider-webs that decorate the edges
Distract my racing mind

Just need some time to say I'm alright
Untie the knots I've tangled inside
In daylight I'm fine

Every time that I feel like I'm sleeping
I get to overthinking
The constant cycle that I put myself through
But these nights are nothing new
