Laid To Rest

Brought down to a whisper
Further dimming the lights,
The terror is retreating,
Back into the night.

Enveloped by exhaustion,
It returns, to it's resting place,
From hallowed ground,
It's steps are retraced.

Once thirsting, for human flesh,
Now cuddled in your nest,

Once a skin seeking destroyer,

Presence quickly fading,

It's vicious vivacity,
It could not long keep

A creature of man's undoing,
Escapes from our world,
Soon to return,
When the curtains are again unfurled
