The winter solstice ? one of the most important days in the year. The following presents this day as the victory of darkness over light (the longest night of the year). To descend into this darkness is to learn about the true laws of the world.

The longest night, all life has ceased.
The Sun sets, sets for the last time.
No light here, no rebirth of the sun.
All life has ceased... But behold the Lady...

The Empress she is indeed by her manner, speech and dress.
The only animate being in this desolate kingdom, in this dead landscape.
No shadow does she throw on the snow - the ruler of the wintry moon.
Her silvery voluptuousness - a gift that takes all life away.
Shivering touch of her deathcold biting lips slackens the beating of my heart.
Deathly white, eyes blazing red, behold - The Emperess!
Her cold, dead tomb, her hot, wet womb, one dead seed, one dead tree...

And that tree dies upon the bones of the dead.
And that tree grows upon the bones of the dead.
That which is immortal is always in motion!
That which is immortal is always changing!

It speaks, it is silent, it dies, it is reborn again.
The cycle is completed. The wheel keeps turning..
