Hope the medicine hold its fire
Down below and then way up higher
It’s always darker than I recall
How was I to know
There’s a light you know

Nothing growing here, guess it might
It’s monochrome in my paradise
And I know nothings ever been black and white
I guess that’s alright

Things are changing 'round here you know
There’s no 'easy does it now, nice and slowly'
Still they come with their guns and go
