Breath is a Dagger

A breath is a dagger for my heart
And if I try to wrench it out
I'll only come apart

I walk, (more like stagger)
down the dark paths of my mind
And I feel so afraid that I
cannot face what lurks in the shadows

A flickering candle, more constant - the nail
Instead of burning out forever it drives into
me where I'm frail
