Change of Heart

So many times we've failed to grasp what it means to be truly alive.
So when we pray where do our words go?
To man?
Who has failed so many times?
We're incapable of gaining meaning from this.
Without the higher goal our efforts go to nothing.
Hate us,
I don't,
the good in everyone can still be awakened.
Set the tone for hope,
set it straight to abandon the past.
The road is getting hopeless, (but)
we will place you at the heart of everything we do.
I will ignite this heart and burn away the past.
I'm going to ignite a bitter generation.
They've had it easy for too long - for too long.
