He Is a Gambler

A drink, some luck, a table and a game.
That's what he needs, those are his essentials.
Once standing in the chapel, he gave his love his hand.
'Twas meant for a lifetime, the feeling was so grand.
What will he become? Now can he ever win?
The wheels are always turning, saying, "One more
time again."
He is a gambler!

At seven every morning, he starts out on his job.
All he can think of, is related to his gambling.
'Cause he's got the fever, that only gamblers know.

Dreaming of a big win, as his heart begins to glow.
He can't go any longer, it's either work or play.
He has to make his choices, yes, it has to be that way.
He is a gambler!

He's now a man of fifty, with nothing to his name.
Nothing in his pockets, 'cause he plays the game.
When he was just a young boy, it seemed like so
much fun.
To wager on the numbers, and count what he had won.
Obsessed by wheels of fortune, a gambler he'd become.
He can't face up to life now, he's a gambler on the run.
He is a gambler!
