The Owens Curse

Every owens woman knows
Roses bloom where mourning grows
Love his lips, he'll lose his breath
Our wedding ring belongs to death
Mother cried beneath the Moon: Happiness is buried soon

Every promise, every kiss
Death remembers every wish

The owens curse
The owens curse
Love me once, you'll face the death
The owens curse
The owens curse
Every heartbeat ends in dirt
Don't say I love you
'Cause the owens curse will catch you

Generations watched them fall
Love has always claimed them all
Then she found the oldest spell
Not to save herself from hell
Only blood that chooses flame
Breaks the curse and breaks the chain

The owens curse
The owens curse
Love me once, you'll face the death
The owens curse
The owens curse
Every heartbeat ends in dirt
Don't say I love you
'Cause the owens curse will catch you

She stepped into the river's light
Turned her death into our life
Saved the family with a smile

The owens curse
The owens curse
Love me once, you'll face the death
The owens curse
The owens curse
Every heartbeat ends in dirt
Don't say I love you
'Cause the owens curse will catch you
