Between the dawning of my life and when
My days are numbered low
Nobody else is ever gonna run my show
I play the game according to my rules
Got neither foe nor friend
For independence is my motto till the end
I twist the meaning of society
And always walk alone
These narrow streets I made with cobbles of my own
I ask the questions and I give replies
I am the one to please
If there’s somebody whom to prove a thing, that’s me
I look around – there’s a feeling inside
Tells me not to trust a soul
Whatever plot you decide to write
I refuse to play a role
I’m an outcast – in this nonsense of belonging
Throughout the years I have denied to be
In groups of any kind
‘cause my ideals never fit the common mind
They’re all so certain they could even bet
That I am bound to fail
But in the end all my convictions will prevail
I look around – there’s a feeling inside
Tells me not to trust a soul
Whatever choice I decide to make
I refuse to yield control
I’m an outcast – in this nonsense of belonging
